Overview

Frank Pepe’s is more than pizza. It is a destination. For decades fans have lined up for a taste of their famous coal-fired pies. The brand had previously invested in a fully integrated digital experience but the results were severely underperforming. The technology existed but failed to connect. Patrons faced a disjointed journey that bounced them between a brand site and a generic ordering portal. Friction slows down hunger. We bridged the gap between their historic quality and modern convenience without losing the soul of the brand.

Defining the vision for the product

We rejected the standard template approach. We integrated Olo directly into the core website architecture. This eliminated the jarring jump to a third-party subdomain and kept users immersed in the brand story from landing page to checkout. We reallocated budget from surface-level aesthetics to deep technical integration. A pretty site that fails to sell is useless. We built a machine that converts.

Mobile-first Customization

Pizza is complex. Building a half-clam and half-mozzarella pie on a phone screen creates friction. We engineered a custom builder interface that creates clarity. Users toggle toppings and see real-time pricing updates instantly.

Smart Handoff Logic

Ordering starts with context. We redesigned the flow to establish pickup or delivery parameters immediately. This prevents the frustration of building a cart only to find out the store is closed. Smart defaults reduce clicks and speed up the path to payment.

Integrated Loyalty

We wove Punchh loyalty directly into the ordering flow. This drives natural adoption and allows the brand to own their customer data. Patrons earn rewards seamlessly with every slice.

Checkout Optimization

Checkout is the final hurdle where most digital experiences stumble. We engineered a single-page checkout to eliminate the friction of multi-step forms. This consolidated view keeps the guest focused and simplifies the decision to buy. We removed the barriers to entry and optimized the flow for speed. The result is a higher conversion rate that turns hungry visitors into loyal patrons instantly.
